Small metal cylinders called M-44s lure foxes, coyotes and other animals with a sweet scent — then spray these animals with poison.

Deployed by the government as a favor to livestock owners, these poison traps cause immense suffering and kill thousands of animals every year. They’ve also killed pets and injured children.
